2004 Work Comp Reforms

Workers’ compensation costs became a focal point during the California recall of Governor Davis in 2003, California instituted its own reforms to combat rising workers’ compensation costs.  Reforms in 2004 allowed employers rather than the employees to choose the doctors, required workers to show what percentage of the injury occurred on the job, and limited the duration of temporary total benefits.
